Given: lines l and m are parallel, and line t is a transversal.

angle pair result/justification

1 and 2 are equal (vertical angles)

6 and 8 are equal (corresponding angles)

1 and 4 are equal (alternate exterior angles)

4 and 8 are supplementary angles (i.e. add up to 180 degrees, a straight angle)

Note:

alternate angles are on opposite sides of the transversal, and each attached to a different (parallel) line.

If they are both enclosed by the parallel lines, they are alternate interior angles (examples: angles 2 and 3, 6 and 7)

If they are both outside of the two parallel lines, they are alternate exterior angles (examples: angles 1 and 4, 5 and 8)

Answer:

<1 & <4

Step-by-step explanation:

The only alternate exterior angle pair would be 1 & 4, for the reason that <1 & <2 are vertical, <6 & <8 are corresponding, and <4 & <8 are adjacent. Therefore, that being said, the only alternate exterior pair would be <1 and <4. Hope this helps!

Set up a system of equations and then use your calculator to solve: In triangle ABC, the sum of angles and c is equal to three t
aalyn [17]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

angle A = 40

angle B = 60

angle C = we don't know.

A + B + C = 180

C = 180 - A - B

C = 180 - 40 - 60

C = 80

40 + 60 + 80 = 180

180 = 180...It checks!

A car travels 32 miles for each gallon of gas.How many gallons of gas does it need to travel 192 miles
gladu [14]

Hi there! :)

Answer:

The car needs 6 gallons of gas to travel 192 miles.

Step-by-step explanation:

In order to answer your question, you'll need to use the cross product method:

32 miles → 1 gallon

192 miles → X gallons

(1 × 192) ÷ 32 = X gallons

192 ÷ 32 = X gallons

6 = X gallons

There you go! I really hope this helped, if there's anything just let me know! :)
