x^2-x-12=x^2+3x-4x-12=x(x+3)-4(x+3)=(x+3)(x-4)\\\\x^2-2x-8=x^2+2x-4x-8=x(x+2)-4(x+2)=(x+2)(x-4)\\\\4x^2=2x\cdot2x

\dfrac{x^2-x-12}{2x}:\dfrac{x^2-2x-8}{4x^2}=\dfrac{x^2-x-12}{2x}\cdot\dfrac{4x^2}{x^2-2x-8}\\\\=\dfrac{(x+3)(x-4)}{2x}\cdot\dfrac{2x\cdot2x}{(x+2)(x-4)}=\dfrac{(x+3)}{1}\cdot\dfrac{2x}{(x+2)}\\\\=\boxed{\dfrac{2x^2+6x}{x+2}}

Solve the system of linear equations by substitution x=5y+2 and x-4y=5
never [62]

Answer:

(17,3)

Step-by-step explanation:

Equation 1.

x=5y+2

Equation 2.

x-4y=5

To solve with substitution, it looks like the x-variable in the first equation is already isolated. So, plug the first equation into the x-variable in the second equation.

x-4y=5

(5y+2)-4y=5

y+2=5

y=3

Now that we found y, plug y into one of the equations to solve for x.

x=5y+2

x=5(3)+2

x=15+2

x=17

(17,3)

Asa received scores of 72, 97, and 82 on her last three math tests. she needs a mean test score of 82 to qualify for the math te
lara [203]

First step is to find what should be the required total of sum of Score after fourth test, to identify how much more or less she need to score in his fourth test.

Since Mean = (Sum of Scores)/number of test

using above formula we determine what is the required sum of score.

82 = (Sum of Scores)/4

⇒ 82 × 4 = 328

So in four test she should have score total as 328

So Score require in fourth test = Required Score Total - (total score in 3 tests)

             = 328 - ( 72 + 97 + 82 ) = 77

So she need score of 77 to be at mean of 82 after fourth test and get qualify for the team
