Billy takes two tests in his probability and statistics class. The probability that Billy would pass at least one test is 0.9. T

he probability that he passes both tests is 0.7. The tests are of equal difficulty (that is, the probability that Billy passes test 1 is the same as the probability that he passes test 2.)
What is the conditional probability of Billy passing test 2 given the event that he passes test 1?

Answer:

0.875 is the required probability.

Step-by-step explanation:

We are given the following in the question:

Probability Billy would pass atleast one test = 0.9

P(A\cup B) = 0.9

Probability Billy would pass both test = 0.7

P(A\cap B) = 0.7

The two test are equally difficult.

P(A) = P(B)

For independent events we can write that

P(A\cup B) = P(A) + P(B) -P(A\cap B)\\0.9 = 2P(A) - 0.7\\2P(A) = 1.6\\P(A) = P(B)=0.8

We have to find the conditional probability that Billy passing test 2 given the event that he passes test 1.

P(B|A) = \dfrac{P(B\cap A)}{P(A)} = \dfrac{0.7}{0.8} = 0.875

0.875 is the conditional probability of Billy passing test 2 given the event that he passes test 1

39=9x+7-3x+20

Subtract 27 from each side

12=6x
2=x

Now plug in 2 for x to find AB and BC

9x+7= AB
9(2)+7=AB
18+7= AB
25= AB

-3x+20= BC
-3(2)+20= BC
-6+20= BC
14= BC

Help. only questions 3 & 4 .
Maksim231197 [3]

I'm doing 3

     For 3, using a table is very similar to a double number because the numbers are matching up in both ways.

         On the bottom of a double number line we have like, for example,-- the bottom of the double number line would have batches. And its 1, 2, 3 ,4 , etc.

         And on a table, it would be the same, the numbers on both diagrams have the same methods, have same way of lining things up but they're just drawn differently.

                Hope this helped!

RSB [31]

A customer borrowed $2000 and then a further $1000 both repayble in 12 months. What would he have saved if he had taken out one loan for $3000 repayable in 12 months?

He took two different loans, it charged him loan processing fee twice, two-time documentation process, and of course, extra time spent for second loan. Instead, he could take single loan of $3000 with one-time processing fee, one-time documentation process, and time-saving also.
