The greatest possible surface area of the prism is 78 square units, it is obtained by removing center cube on each side of the prism.

Step-by-step explanation:

The given is,

Prism is made up of 27 identical  cubes

Step:1

               Ref attachment,

Let, surface area of one of cube = 1 square units

               Surface area of given prism,

In the given diagram it have 9 cube sides in each side of prism.

1 surface prism = 9 surface of cube

Surface area of given prism = 6 × Surface of prism

                                                              = 6 × 9

                                                              = 54 square units

Step:2 Check for alternative's

For removing one cube on the edge of prism,

1 surface of prim = 9 surfaces of cube

Surface area after removing cube on each side,

                                             = 6 × 11 = 66 square units

For removing  cube on corner of prism,

1 surface of prim = 9 surfaces of cube

Surface area after removing cube on corner,

                                             = 6 × 9 = 54 square units

For removing center cube on each side,

1 surface of prim = 13 surfaces of cube

Surface area after removing cube on corer on the prism,

                                                  = 6 × 13 = 78 square units

Surface area after removing corner cube on prism = 78 square units

Result:

The greatest possible surface area of the prism is 78 square units, it is obtained by removing center cube on each side of the prism.

Name the property that the statement illustrates.
kolezko [41]

Answer:

Transitive property of segment congruence

Step-by-step explanation:

The reflexive, symmetric, and transitive properties are the criterion for an equivalence relation. In terms of congruence,

  • The reflexive property states that \overline{XY} \cong \overline{XY} (a segment is congruent to itself)
  • The symmetric property states that if \overline{AB} \cong \overline{CD}, then \overline{CD} \cong \overline{AB} (this is essentially commutativity)
  • The transitive property states that if \overline{AB} \cong \overline{CD} and \ovelrine{CD} \cong \overline{EF}, then \overline{AB} \cong \overline{EF}.

In terms of general equivalence relations,

  • The reflective property states that a = a.
  • The symmetric property states that if a=b, then b=a.
  • The transitive property states that if a=b and b=c, then a=c.

When a distribution is mound-shaped symmetrical, what is the general relationship among the values of the mean, median, and mode
yuradex [85]

Answer:

The mean, median, and mode are approximately equal.

Step-by-step explanation:

The mean, median, and mode are <em>central tendency measures</em> in a distribution. That is, they are measures that correspond to a value that represents, roughly speaking, "the center" of the data distribution.

In the case of a <em>normal distribution</em>, these measures are located at the same point (i.e., mean = median = mode) and the values for this type of distribution are symmetrically distributed above and below the mean (mean = median = mode).

When a <em>distribution is not symmetrical</em>, we say it is <em>skewed</em>. The skewness is a measure of the <em>asymmetry</em> of the distribution. In this case, <em>the mean, median and mode are not the same</em>, and we have different possibilities as the mentioned in the question: the mean is less than the median and the mode (<em>negative skew</em>), or greater than them (<em>positive skew</em>), or approximately equal than the median but much greater than the mode (a variation of a <em>positive skew</em> case).

In the case of the normal distribution, the skewness is 0 (zero).

Therefore, in the case of a <em>mound-shaped symmetrical distribution</em>, it resembles the <em>normal distribution</em> and, as a result, it has similar characteristics for the mean, the median, and the mode, that is, <em>they are all approximately equal</em>. So, <em>the </em><em>general</em><em> relationship among the values for these central tendency measures is that they are all approximately equal for mound-shaped symmetrical distributions, </em>considering they have similar characteristics of the <em>normal distribution</em>, which is also a mound-shaped symmetrical distribution (as well as the t-student distribution).
