What is the equation: 5w-9=26

Mathematics

7 0

First, add nine on both sides of the equal sign. Adding nine cancels the -9 out, whereas it changes 26 to 35.

Our current equation is 5w=35

Then divide by 5 on both sides, it has the same effect.

The answer to the equation is w=7

Hope this helps!

5w-9=26 add 9 on both sides

5w=35 then divide both sides by 5

w=7

Kelsey, a marine biologist, has determined that the population (y) of Blue Whales off the coast of Antarctica varies with time,
Marrrta [24]

Answer: The answer is (A) [0,100].

Step-by-step explanation:  Given in the question that a marine biologist Kelsey determined that the population of Blue Whales off the coast of Antarctica varies with time as shown in the given graph.

The population of Blue Whales (y) is plotted on the Y-axis and the time in months (x) is plotted on the X-axis.

We need to find the range of the population of Blue Whales off the coast of Antarctica from 0 to 10 months.

We can see from the attached graph that

when x = 0, then y = 0,

when x = 10, then y = 100.

That is, when time varies between 0 to 10 months, then the population of Blue Whales varies between 0 and 100.

Thus, the correct option is (A) [0,100].

Please help with #5 and #8! I don’t really know all of the info to find the volume! (Composite Figures)
bagirrra123 [75]
It looks like you're doing good with breaking-down the composite into digestible pieces. So, don't stress too much!

Keep in mind that the area for a 3D shape is Bh, where "B" is the area of a face & "h" is the height.

#5
Shape A is 3X4X9.
First, calculate the area of a face:

9X4= 36

Multiply by height:

36X3= 108

The process is the same with shape B.
3X4X8
Calculate area of face:

8X4= 32

Multiply by height:

32X3= 96

Now you add both areas:

108+96= 204 cubic feet

I think you're doing pretty good, just don't over think things too much. Try #8 with the similar process seen here. Just comment if you get stuck.

Hope this helps!
