Remark

I think you can only do this either as a 2 step question or as a proportion. The easiest way is the proportion.

Proportion

6 hours / 52.50 = 11/x      Cross multiply

6*x = 52.50 * 11                Combine the factors on the right

6x =  577.5                       Divide both sides by 6

6x/6 = 577.5/6

x = 96.25                        Answer

So, just divide:

52.50 / 6 = 8.75

This means that she earns $8.75 an hour.

If this is her hourly salary, then multiply 8.75 x 11

8.75 x 11 = 96.25

So, if Paula works for 11 hours,  she will earn $96.25!

The graph below shows the value of Edna's profits f(t), in dollars, after t months:
umka21 [38]
Since we know that the graph of our quadratic function has x-intercepts at (6,0) and (18,0), x=6 and x=18 are the zeroes of our quadratic. To find our quadratic we are going to factor each zero backwards and multiply them:
x=6
x-6=0
x=18
x-18=0

(x-6)(x-18)=x^{2}-6x-18x+108
=x^{2}-24x+108

Now that we have our quadratic function, we are going to use the average formula: m= \frac{f(9)-f(3)}{9-3}
where
f(9) is the function evaluated at  the <span>9th month
</span>f(3) is the function evaluated at the 3rd month

m= \frac{f(9)-f(3)}{9-3}
m= \frac{[9^{2}-24(9)+108]-[3^{2}-24(3)+108]}{9-3}
m= \frac{-27-45}{6}
m= \frac{-72}{6}
m=-12

We can conclude that the closest approximate average rate of change for Edna's profits from the 3rd month to the 9th month is: <span>B. −11.63 dollars per month.</span>

Write the slope intercept form of the equation of the line through the given point
ozzi

Answer:

y =  -\frac{3}{4}x

Step-by-step explanation:

slope-intercept form: y = mx + b

Given: slope(m) = -\frac{3}{4}, point (4, -3)

We already have the value of m, but we need to find the value of b. To do this, input the given values of the slope and the point into the equation:

-3 =  -\frac{3}{4}(4) + b

Solve for b:

-3 =  -\frac{3}{4}(4) + b

-3 = -3 + b

0 = b

The value of b is zero. We can now write the equation:

y =  -\frac{3}{4}x + 0

y =  -\frac{3}{4}x

The equation written in slope-intercept form is: y =  -\frac{3}{4}x
