if the minute hand is 8 inches long, it shows the radius of the circle of the clock.

thus, the circumference of the circle (boundary)= 2πr

= 2X 3.14 X 8    ( wherein, r= radius= 8; π= 22/7 or 3.14)

= 50.27 inches.

The length between each two consecutive no.s on the clock = 50.27/12 = 4.19

Thus, the length moved n=by the tip of the minute hand= 4.19X8

= 33.44 inches

Hope that this would be correct .

The minute hand is like an eight inch radius of a circle, whose circumference would equal 2 * PI * 8 = 50.265 inches.  By moving to 8 o'clock, it travels 2/3 of the circumference or 50.265 * 2/3 = 33.510 inches

Find the area of the regular trapezoid. The figure is not drawn to scale. The top side is 4, the bottom side is 7, and both side
svp [43]
A regular trapezoid is shown in the picture attached.

We know that:
DC = minor base = 4
AB = major base = 7
AD = BC = lateral sides or legs = 5

Since the two legs have the same length, the trapezoid is isosceles and we can calculate AH by the formula:

AH = (AB - DC) ÷ 2
      = (7 - 5) ÷ 2
      = 2 ÷ 2
      = 1

Now, we can apply the Pythagorean theorem in order to calculate DH:
DH = √(AD² - AH²)
      = √(5² - 1²)
      = √(25 - 1)
      = √24
      = 2√6

Last, we have all the information needed in order to calculate the area by the formula:

A =  \frac{(AB + CD)DH}{2}

A = (7 + 5) × 2√6 ÷ 2
   = 12√6

The area of the regular trapezoid is 12√6 square units.

garri49 [273]

Step-by-step explanation:

The mean is the average.  Add up all the points, then divide by the number of points.

(12 + 17 + 11 + 13 + 17 + 15) / 6 = 14⅙

Lifetime of $1 Bills The average lifetime of circulated $1 bills is 18 months. A researcher believes that the average lifetime i
OLEGan [10]
<h2>Answer with explanation:</h2>

Let \mu be the population mean lifetime of circulated $1 bills.

By considering the given information , we have :-

H_0:\mu=18\\\\H_a:\mu\neq18

Since the alternative hypotheses is two tailed so the test is a two tailed test.

We assume that the lifetime of circulated $1 bills is normally distributed.

Given : Sample size :  n=50 , which is greater than 30 .

It means the sample is large so we use z-test.

Sample mean : \overline{x}=18.8

Standard deviation : \sigma=2.8

Test statistic for population mean :-

z=\dfrac{\overline{x}-\mu}{\dfrac{\sigma}{\sqrt{n}}}

\Rightarrow\ z=\dfrac{18.8-18}{\dfrac{2.8}{\sqrt{50}}}\approx2.02

The p-value= 2P(z>2.02)=0.0433834

Since the p-value (0.0433834) is greater than the significance level (0.02) , so we do not reject the null hypothesis.

Hence, we conclude that we do not have enough evidence to support the alternative hypothesis that the average lifetime of a circulated $1 bill differs from 18 months.
