The dendrites are the nerve cell projections whose purpose is to receiver information from the preceding neuron. The information transfer from neuron to neuron occurs via electrical impulses, and chemical signals. The transfer of these chemical signals is achieved via the dendrites. These chemical signals are transferred from one neuron to another at the synapse. The neurotransmitters are released in the synapse where the dendrites receive, process and transfer them.

Hence, the answer is 'receive information'.

Answer;

-Receive information;

Explanation;

-Neurons are the basic building blocks of the nervous system. Each part of the neuron plays a role in communicating information throughout the body. Neurons carry messages throughout the body, including sensory information from external stimuli and signals from the brain to different muscle groups in the body.

-Neurons have specialized projections called dendrites and axons. Dendrites bring information to the cell body and axons take information away from the cell body. Information from one neuron flows to another neuron across a synapse. The synapse contains a small gap separating neurons.

Makes the sex cells necessary for sexual reproduction
lyudmila [28]
"Sex Cells" or "haploids" are needed in order to add variation in DNA. If there was no "haploids" (which are just cells with 23 Chromosomes), then the female would not need the male for reproduction, basically meaning birth of an identical twin to the mother. The two haploids, the female's ova (Egg) and male's sperm meet, creating a zygote, or a fertilized egg.

This makes sure there is "immediate variation", and it isn't just ten generations of the same "Bob"!

Which area would you expect to have the highest species diversity?
Simora [160]
A rain forest would have the most species diversity if you are talking about complex eukaryotic organisms (reptiles, mammals etc), though the polluted lake would have the most simple prokaryotic organisms ( bacteria, protists, fungi etc.)
