Answer:

<em>La suma de los impares entre 20 y 50 da 875</em>

Step-by-step explanation:

<u>Suma de Progresiones Artiméticas </u>

Una progresión aritmética es aquella en la cual, cada término se obtiene como el anterior mas una cantidad fija llamada diferencia común. El término general de una progresión aritmética es

a_n=a_1+(n-1)r

Donde a_1 es el primer término, n el número de términos y r la diferencia común o radio. La suma de los primeros n términos se calcula como:

\displaystyle S_n=n\frac{a_1+a_n}{2}

\displaystyle n=\frac{a_n-a_1}{r}+1

\displaystyle n=\frac{49-21}{2}+1

\displaystyle n=25

La progresión tiene 25 términos

Ahora la suma es

\displaystyle S_{25}=25\frac{21+49}{2}

\displaystyle S_{25}=25\frac{70}{2}

S_{25}=875

La suma de los impares entre 20 y 50 da 875

Lin multiplies 7/8 times a number.the product is less than 7/8 . Which could be Lin’s number ?
igor_vitrenko [27]

Answer:

Any number less than 1

Step-by-step explanation:

Let x be the number Lin multiplies by 7/8. So, we have:

(7/8)*x < 7/8

We need to find the possible values for x. Lets start by dividing both sides of our inequality by (7/8) in order to get x alone on the left side.

(7/8)*x / (7/8) < (7/8)/(7/8)

Reordering:

(7/8) / (7/8) * x < (7/8)/(7/8)

As any number divided by itself (except from 0) is equal to 1:

x < 1

So, the number that Lin multiplied by 7/8 MUST be less than 1. This is evident, as any positive number multiplied by a number less than 1 will decrease, doesn't matter if its a negative or positive number.

So, such number is less than 1. Any number less than 1 could be Lin's number.

B. Does a12 x a4 = a8 x a8 for all values of a? Explain.
sweet-ann [11.9K]

Answer:

We can use the Laws of Exponent to rewrite both sides of the equation:

Let a¹² x a⁴ = a⁸ x a⁸

⇒        a¹²⁺⁴ = a⁸⁺⁸

             a¹⁶ = a¹⁶  ✅

⇒  a¹² x a⁴ = a⁸ x a⁸ is true for all values of a.

Explanation:

The equation a¹² x a⁴ = a⁸ x a⁸ is true because, on both the RHS and LHS of the equation, both terms in 'a' have exponents that when added (Law of Multiplication of Exponents) are equal to each other, i.e. 12+4 = 8 + 8.
