Answer:

The phenomenon of endosymbiosis gave rise to more multicellular organisms.

Life on Earth is known to have started from prokaryotes. Prokaryotes were simple, unicellular organisms which managed to survive the harsh conditions of the Earth.

The theory of endosymbiosis provides evidence that with the passage of time, the bigger prokaryotes began engulfing the smaller prokaryotes. As a result, multicellular organisms were formed. Organelles like the mitochondria and chloroplast support the validity of this hypothesis.

If a diploid cell in G2 has 66 DNA double helices, it must have ________ pairs of homologous chromosomes
Dafna11 [192]

Answer:

If a diploid cell in G2 has 66 DNA double helices, it must have 33 pairs of homologous chromosomes

Explanation:

Diploid cells (2n) are those that have two chromosomal sets, that is, the chromosomes in these cells are arranged in pairs. Each pair has the same chromosomes (regarding size and shape) and the same genes. These equal chromosomes are called homologues.  In this case, if a diploid cell has 66 chromosomes, we can conclude that these chromosomes are grouped into 33 equal pairs of homologous chromosomes.
