Mathematics

Answer:

A) He invented the point.

D) He wrote a biography on Euclid.

Step-by-step explanation:

David Hilbert was one of the most important mathematicians of the XXth century.

He was born in Germany and as a mathematician he devoloped a wide range of ideas in number theory, commutative algebra, calculus of variations among others.

In 1899 we published "Hilbert's axioms" in which he identified some flaws in "Euclid's axioms" that were still on textbooks at that time. In this work of geometry, Hilbert starts by enumerating basic concepts like the point, the line, congruence on angles and others. However, he didn't invented the point. The point is a concept that was well established in geometry way before Hilbert.

He is also famous for his 23 problems, some of which, to this day, remain unsolved still being a challenge to mathematicians.

His improvements to Euclidean geometry are still used today, along with the axioms he proposed in his book.

Therefore, the statements that are not true are:

A) He invented the point.

B) He wrote a biography on Euclid (he actually wrote a book on Euclid's axioms" but it wasn't a biography.

I think the correct answer from the choices listed above is the fourth option. The statement that is not true about David Hilbert would be that he wrote a biography on Euclid. Hope this answers the question. Have a nice day. Fee; free to ask more questions.
