Roasting a marshmallow is a physical change if it is slightly warmed up. If it is roasted to the point that it is crispy and burnt, it is a chemical change bc the browning is oxidation. This is a process where some of the marshmallow's sugar is burnt and carbon dioxide is released into the air.
