The moon is 384,000 km away from the Earth. It revolves around the earth in 27.3 days. (pi = 3.14)

Speed is rv = r 2pi/T

v = 384,000 2pi/27.3 * 86400

   = 27.9 km/s

Good luck :)

Answer:

It is 7850 m/s

Explanation:

The orbital velocity is given by

v = \sqrt{\frac{GM}{r}}

where, G be the universal gravitational constant, M be the mass of earth and r be the distance of moon from earth.

G = 6.67\times 10^{-11} Nm^{2}/kg^{2}, M = 5.98\times 10^{24}kg, r = 6.47\times 10^{6}m

v = \sqrt{\frac{6.67\times 10^{-11}\times 5.98\times 10^{24}}{6.47\times 10^{6}}}

v = 7850 m/s

As ocean waves approach shore, their velocity decreases. How does a decrease in velocity affect the frequency and wavelength of
timama [110]

Explanation:

As ocean waves approach shore, their velocity decreases. The relation between the velocity, wavelength and the frequency of a wave is given by :

v=f\times \lambda

f = frequency

\lambda = wavelength

f=\dfrac{v}{\lambda}..............(1)

So, as the velocity of the wave increases, the wavelength and frequency also increases as per equation (1). When the velocity decreases, the frequency and the wavelength also decreases.
