Explanation:

Let

B = Burgers

S = shakes

C = cola

Now,

According to the question

3B + 7S + 1C = 120                     .............(i)

and

4B + 10S + 1C = 164.50              .............(ii)

Subtracting (i) from (ii)

we get

B + 3S = 44.50

Multiplying the above equation with 2

we have

2B + 6S = 89       ................(iii)

also,

we ca write the equation (1) as

( B + 2B ) + ( 6S + S ) + C = 120

or

B + (2B + 6S) + S + C = 120

substituting the value from equation (iii)

we get

B + 89 + S + C = 120

or

B + S + C = 120 - 89

or

B + S + C = 31

Hence,

It will cost $31 for a meal of one burger, one shake, and one cola
