Answer:

Since there is attraction force between two charges so the other charge must be - 3C

Explanation:

As we know that the force between two charges is given by formula

F = \frac{kq_1q_2}{r^2}

here we know that

F = 4.23 \times 10^{13}N

also we know that

q_1 = 10C

r = 8 cm

now we have

4.23 \times 10^{13} = \frac{(9\times 10^9)(10)q}{0.08^2}

so we have

q = -3C

How does a fuse protect a toaster?
LUCKY_DIMON [66]
The correct option is (D). i.e.When the current is too high, a metal strip in the fuse melts and opens the circuit.

Explanation: The fuse contains a small piece of wire which has very less melting point. As there is huge current flow, the wire heats to the heavy current flow & melts & the circuit is broken.
Hence, it saves the device from the heavy current flow & the device is damage free. breaks the circuit if a fault in an appliance causes too much current flow.

You are given a copper bar of dimensions 3 cm × 5 cm × 8 cm and asked to attach leads to it in order to make a resistor. If you
Nataliya [291]

Answer:

Option B is correct.

The leads should be attached to the opposite faces that measure 3 cm × 5 cm to obtain the maximum possible resistance.

Explanation:

The resistance of a material is given by

R = (ρL)/A

where ρ = resistivity of the material

A = Cross sectional Area through which current would flow

L = length of the material.

From the relation, it is evident that the resistance of a material is directly proportional to its length and inversely proportional to its cross sectional Area.

As the length of material increases, the resistance of the material also increases, and a decreasing length translates to a decreasing resistance too. (Direct Proportionality)

And as the cross sectional Area of the material increases, the resistance of the material decreases. Decrease in cross sectional Area of the material translates to an increase in resistance. (Inverse Proportionality)

To maximize resistance of a material, it would make sense to maximize the length and minimize the cross sectional Area of that material. (Since resistivity is assumed to be constant)

And with a dimension of (3 × 5 × 8), the longest length is 8 cm and the smallest cross sectional Area is (3 × 5).

So, the leads should be atrached to the face with area (3 cm × 5 cm), which is the smallest cross sectional Area and gives the largest length between the faces (8 cm).

This subsequently maximizes the resistance.

Hope this Helps!!!

A major artery with a 1.7 cm2 cross-sectional area branches into 18 smaller arteries, each with an average cross-sectional area
Alex

Answer:

0.14

Explanation:

Flow rate is the volume flowing through a point at a particular time, in calcuing flow rate we have

Q= v*t

it in terms of Area, we have Q= A*v

Where A= area

v= velocity.

Solving the question , flow rate is constant then

A*v= constant

A(i) v(i)= A(f) v(f)

Where A(i)= initial area= 1.00cm^2

A(f)= final area= 0.400cm^2

V(i) and V(f) are the initial and final velocity respectively and the ratio of the two will gives us the factor

Substitute the values into the equation we have

1 V(i)= 4 V(f)

But we were told that the cross sectional area of 1.00cm^2 branches into 18 smaller arteries.

Then

1 V(i)=0.4 V(f)*(18)

1 V(i)=7.2V(f)

Then if we find the ratio of the velocity, we will get the factor.

V(f)/V(i)= 1/7.2

V(f)/V(i)=0.14

Hence, the factor of the average velocity of the blood reduced when it passes into these branches is 0.14

_____ life cycle models of systems development assume that the scope of the project can be articulated clearly and the schedule
Natalka [10]

Answer:

Predictive

Explanation:

There is a wide variety of life cycles applicable to project management. In this regard, we currently have as a reference two somewhat extreme approaches that mark two very different ways of dealing with projects. The predictive approach and the agile approach.

 A predictive approach involves a great effort in initial planning and re-planning every time changes are accepted in the project. Therefore, this approach is recommended for changing but not highly changing environments. Although this approach is applicable to any type of project, clear examples of application would be the construction of a subway line, a bridge, the development of critical software. That is, projects where correct and detailed planting is key.

g A circular loop of wire with radius 3 m is flat on the xy plane in a magnetic field which is pointed in the z-direction and ha
Phantasy [73]

Answer:

emf=-0.035V

Explanation:

this problem can be solved with the Lenz's law:

emf=-\frac{\Delta \Phi_{B}}{\Delta t}

where PhiB is the magnetic flux. In this case we have

\Delta \Phi_{B}=B(A_1-A_2)

due to the magnetic field is constant. A is the area of the circular loop. Hence

\Delta \Phi_{B}=(5*10^{-3}T)(\pi(3m)^2-\pi(1.5m)^2)=0.106Tm^2

Finally

emf=-\frac{0.106Tm^2}{3s}=-0.035V
