Answer:

y=0.05x

Step-by-step explanation:

Given :

x                    Cost, y

150               $7.50

220              $11.00

250              $12.50

275              $13.75

To Find: If the cost varies directly with the number of minutes Jalen talks on the phone, which equation represents the variation?

Solution:

To find equation we will use two point slope form.

y-y_1=\frac{y_2-y_1}{x_2-x_1}(x-x_1)

(x_1,y_1)=(150,7.50)

(x_2,y_2)=(220,11.00)

Substitute the values in the formula.

y-7.50=\frac{11-7.5}{220-150}(x-150)

y-7.50=0.05(x-150)

y-7.50=0.05x-7.50

y=0.05x

Hence the equation which represents the variation is   y=0.05x

The distance between Earth and Mars is about 4.8732 × 107 miles. What is the standard written form of this distance?
bixtya [17]
I believe the form you mean is

4.8732 x 10^{7}

Well move the decimal point of the 4.8732...7 places to the right.

48,732,000

Now find that answer.

The answer is A.

On any given day, the number of users, u, that access a certain website can be represented by the inequality 125-4530
Masteriza [31]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Our inequality is |125-u| ≤ 30. Let's separate this into two. Assuming that (125-u) is positive, we have 125-u ≤ 30, and if we assume that it's negative, we'd have -(125-u)≤30, or u-125≤30.

Therefore, we now have two inequalities to solve for:

125-u ≤ 30

u-125≤30

For the first one, we can subtract 125 and add u to both sides, resulting in

0 ≤ u-95, or 95≤u. Therefore, that is our first inequality.

The second one can be figured out by adding 125 to both sides, so u ≤ 155.

Remember that we took these two inequalities from an absolute value -- as a result, they BOTH must be true in order for the original inequality to be true. Therefore,

u ≥ 95

and

u ≤ 155

combine to be

95 ≤ u ≤ 155, or the 4th option
