The probability that you roll a 5 on a six-sided die is start fraction one over six end fraction . The probability that you flip

a coin that lands on heads is start fraction one over two end fraction. The probability that you roll a 5 on a six-sided die and you flip a coin that lands on heads is start fraction one over 12 end fraction. What is the probability of flipping a coin and it landing on heads, given that you rolled a 5 on a six-sided die? Are these two events independent?

I am not sure about the probability but I cant tell you these events are independent because u don't need to roll a five for a coin to land on heads

Let:

F - <span>5 on a six-sided die,</span>
H - coin lands on heads

We also know that:

P(F)=\dfrac{1}{6}\qquad\qquad P(H)=\dfrac{1}{2}\qquad\qquad P(F\cap H)=\dfrac{1}{12}

Calculate:

P(H|F)=\dfrac{P(F\cap H)}{P(F)}=\dfrac{\frac{1}{12}}{\frac{1}{6}}=\dfrac{1\cdot6}{12\cdot1}=\dfrac{6}{12}=\boxed{\dfrac{1}{2}}

In this case events are independent when:

P(H|F)=P(H)

Both probabilities equals \dfrac{1}{2}, so H and F are independent.

Answer:  C) exactly one triangle

<u>Step-by-step explanation:</u>

Given: ∠A = 45°, ∠B = 65°, side c = 4 cm

By the Triangle Sum Theorem, ∠C = 70°

Now you have a proportion so you can use the Law of Sines to find the exact length of side a and of side b.

\dfrac{\sin\angle A}{a}=\dfrac{\sin\angle B}{b}=\dfrac{\sin\angle C}{c}\\\\\\\dfrac{\sin 45^o}{a}=\dfrac{\sin65^o}{b}=\dfrac{\sin70^o}{4}

Thus, there is exactly one triangle.

Answer:

y = - 13, y = 13

Step-by-step explanation:

Given

y² = 169 ( take the square root of both sides )

y = ± \sqrt{169} = ± 13

Since 13 × 13 = 169 and - 13 × - 13 = 169

Select the correct answer. A sound wave enters a new medium where sound travels faster. How does this affect the frequency and w
Ulleksa [173]

Answer:

The correct answer is E. Neither the frequency nor the wavelength is affected. Explanation: The wave frequency does not affect the speed of that wave. An increase in frequency of a wave causes a decrease in wavelength while the wave speed remains the constant. The speed of the waves is significantly higher at higher tensions.
