Most likely the Indian Rebel would be angry at the usurpers and invaders for ruling a country that they have taken by force and imposing different culture and values upon the Indian people

Historically, the British has always considered themselves to me more advance, civilized and sophisticated than other peoples, even other Europeans. A British solder would see an Indian rebel as a savage that is much bellow him.
