Answer: acetylcholine is released by axon terminals of the motor neurone.

Explanation:

Neuromuscular junction is a type of chemical synapse that transmits signals from a motor neurone to a muscle fibre to ensure control of skeletal muscle contraction and voluntary movements.

The activities that occurs in this junction which eventually leads to muscle contraction includes'

- The arrival of action potential at the presynaptic terminal which leads to opening of calcium channels,

- Influx of calcium ions which causes neuromuscular vesicles to attach to presynaptic cell membrane,

- this leads to release of acetylcholine by the axon terminals which is the critical event that occurs in the neuromuscular Junction amongst other events. If acetylcholine is not released, end plate potential wont be achieved and no muscle contraction will occur. I hope this helps, thanks.

Answer:

The secretion of Acetylcholine at the axon terminals of the motor neurons is the critical event that occurs at the neuromuscular junction.

Explanation:

The connection between the nervous system and the muscular system happens at the neuromuscular junction. It acts as a bridge between the nervous and muscular systems.

The walls of the postjunctional folds secrete an important chemical known as Acetylcholine. This is the main neurotransmitter used at the neuromuscular junction. It is also the most abundant neurotransmitter in the body.

It is responsible for the relaxation of muscles, and activation of the glandular functions in the endocrine system, hence, it helps in most muscular operations of the body.

Hence, the secretion of Acetylcholine a critical event that occurs at the neuromuscular junction.

Sewage pipes releasing sewage into a ditch

Smokestack style factory chimneys

How does increasing in carbon dioxide affect photosynthesis?
zhannawk [14.2K]

Answer:

An increase in the carbon dioxide concentration increases the rate at which carbon is incorporated into carbohydrate in the light-independent reaction, and so the rate of photosynthesis generally increases until limited by another factor.
