<u>Answer</u>:

Option is B) s + j = 32 & s − j = 4  models this situation

<u>Explanation</u>:

<u>Given</u>:

Total number of students sign up for kayaking trip = 32

Total number of juniors sign up for kayaking trip = j

Total Number of seniors sign up for kayaking trip = s

<u>Solution</u>:

According  to question

s+j=32………1

s-j=4 ............2

From equation(2)

s=4+j

substituting the value of s in equation (1),

(4+j)+j=32

4+2j=32

2j=32-4

2j=28

j=14

So the number of juniors who sign up for kayaking trip = 14

And number of seniors who sign up for kayaking trip = 14+4=18

Now we check all the options one by one by putting the values of s and j then we will find out that the Option B satisfy the above value of s and j .

So the correct option is B.

julsineya [31]
The answer would be A because if the player starts on the 20 yard line and gains 9 yards, that would be 20+9= 29. Then it says the player loses 4 yards which would make it 29-4= 25 then it says the referee takes the penalty away which then makes it 29 again. If you do the math for A it comes out to be 29.

We know that According to Algebra of Real Functions :

If f and g are two real functions which are defined under the same domain then (\frac{f}{g})(x) = \frac{f(x)}{g(x)}

\implies Given\;Function\;is\;\frac{-1}{x\sqrt{3x - 9}}

Now we need find the Domain of this Function :

The Condition for Square Root to be defined is any Expression under it should be Greater than or Equal to Zero.

When Function is a Fraction, it Cannot be defined when the denominator becomes zero. Because when the denominator is zero, the fraction tends to ∞ (because anything divided by zero tends to ∞)

According to Above Conditions Described above, The Given Function is Definable only when the Expression which is under the Square Root is Greater than Zero and x ≠ 0

⇒ 3x - 9 > 0

⇒ 3x > 9

⇒ x > 3

⇒ The Domain of the Given Function is (3 , ∞)
