Covalent Bonding

Ionic bonds are characterized by a transfer of electrons between elements to form a stable compound. These bonds typically form in compounds consisting of a metal and a nonmetal, which are positively and negatively charged respectively.

Covalent bonds are characterized by a sharing of electrons between the elements in the compound. Covalent bonds are formed between nonmetals and in many inorganic compounds as well.

Metallic bonding, as the name suggests, is formed between metals.

Since phosphorus pentoxide consists of 4 phosphorus atoms and 10 oxygen atoms, and both of which are categorized as nonmetals, phosphorus pentoxide is therefore, bonded covalently.

Q1. Give the name of one metal and where it is used in the Media sector and give a reason why it is suitable for that particular
Degger [83]

The metal that is used in media is Nickel while the insulator used in media is silicon.

<h3>What is a metal?</h3>

Metals are those elements that occur at the left hand side of the periodic table. A metal that is very useful in media is nickel because it is very pure and can be used in electronics circuits.

However, an insulator that is used in media is silicon which is used integrated circuits.

Find energy is the wavelength is 5.2x10^-7m (Show work)
RoseWind [281]

Answer:

E = 3.825×10⁻¹⁹ J

Explanation:

Wavelength of photon = 5.2 ×10⁻⁷m

Energy of photon = ?

Solution:

Formula:

E = hc/λ

h = plancks constant = 6.63×10⁻³⁴ Js

c = speed of wave = 3×10⁸ m/s

by putting values,

E = 6.63×10⁻³⁴ Js ×3×10⁸ m/s / 5.2 ×10⁻⁷m

E = 19.89×10⁻²⁶ J.m / 5.2 ×10⁻⁷m

E = 3.825×10⁻¹⁹ J
