The planning section is the ICS functional area that tracks resources, collects and analyzes information, and maintains documentation.
Other activities are: preparing and documenting Incident Action Plans., tracking resources assigned to the incident and developing plans for demobilization. The Section Chief is responsible for this ICS area.
