Answer:

Activation energy of the reaction is 79.5 kJ/mol

Explanation:

According to Arrhenius equation for a reaction-

                     k=Ae^{(\frac{-E_{a}}{RT})}

where k is the rate constant, A is the Arrhenius constant, E_{a} is the activation energy and T is temperature in kelvin

For the given two different set of condition, we can write-

at 43^{0}\textrm{C}, 5.22\times 10^{-4}=Ae^{(\frac{-E_{a}}{8.31\times 316})}............(1)

at 62^{0}\textrm{C}, 2.91\times 10^{-3}=Ae^{(\frac{-E_{a}}{8.31\times 335})}............(2)

Eq-(1)\div Eq-(2) gives-

\frac{5.22\times 10^{-4}}{2.91\times 10^{-3}}=e^{\frac{E_{a}}{8.31}(\frac{1}{335}-\frac{1}{316})}

Solving this equation we get E_{a}=79.5 kJ/mol

So activation energy of the reaction is 79.5 kJ/mol

A gas occupies 40.0 mL at 150 K. What volume does it occupy at 300 K,
nlexa [21]

Answer:

.08 L or 80 ml

Explanation:

Use the equation V/t = V/t.

.04L / 150K = V / 300K

.04 / 150 * 300 = V

In a beaker a compartment a has 25% glucose solution and compartment b has 5% glu glucose solution. The membrane is permeable to
dem82 [27]

Answer is: osmotic pressure.

The direction of osmotic pressure is always from the side with the lower concentration of solute to the side with the higher concentration, in this example, from solution b (5% glucose) to solution b (25% glucose).

Osmotic pressure, alongside the vapor pressure depression, freezing point depression and the boiling point elevation are the colligative properties od solution.

EXPERIMENT 1: Identify the oxidation and reduction half-reactions that occur in
Hoochie [10]

Answer:

Cathode: Mn → Mn²⁺  +  2e⁻    (Oxidation)

Anode: Zn²⁺  +  2e⁻  →  Zn   (Reduction)

Mn | Mn²⁺ ||  Zn²⁺  | Zn

Explanation:

To identify the half reaction we need to see the oxidation states.

Mn(s) → Ground state → Oxidation state = 0

Mn(NO₃)₂ → Mn²⁺  → The oxidation state has increased.

This is the oxidation reaction. It has released two electrons:

Mn → Mn²⁺  +  2e⁻

Zn(NO₃)₂ →  Zn²⁺

Zn → Ground state → The oxidation state was decreased.

This is the reduction reaction. It has gained two electrons:

Zn²⁺  +  2e⁻  →  Zn

Cathode: Mn → Mn²⁺  +  2e⁻

Anode: Zn²⁺  +  2e⁻  →  Zn

Mn | Mn²⁺ ||  Zn²⁺  | Zn
