    First, realize that angle ABC is the sum of the two other angles. Hence, form an equation in which you subtract the measure of one of the angles from angle ABC to get the measure of the other angle -- the one you are solving for.

In ABC the measure of angle a is 2X +3 the measure of angle B is 4X +2 and the measure of angle C is 2X-1 what are the measures
Novay_Z [31]
Angle A is 2x + 3
Angle B is 4x + 2
Angle C is 2x - 1

The three angles add up to 180
So:
2x + 3 + 4x + 2 + 2x - 1 = 180
Combine terms
8x +  4 = 180
Subtract 4
8x = 176
x = 22

Now we solve for the angles:
Angle A is 2(22) + 3 = 44 + 3 = 47
Angle B is 4(22) + 2 = 88 + 2 = 90
Angle C is 2(22) - 1 = 44 - 1 = 43

Quick check: 47 + 90 + 43 = 180
