Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

In order to know which equation we need to consider, we have to check the value of x. If x is negative, we will replace x in the first equation and if x is positive or null we will replace it in the second equation.

(a) x=-4 so x is negative. We use the first equation f(x)=5x+7 and we have f(-4)=5*(-4)+7=-13

(b)x=2 and is positive so we use the second equation  f(x)=7x+8. The result is f(2)=7*(2)+8=22

(c)x=0 In this case the function is defined by the second equation f(x)=7x+8. So f(0)=7*(0)+8=8

(d)Here we have both case in the same calcul. We need to calculate the fonction values of each one and then make the sum.

With f(-100), x=-100 and is negative so we use the first equation  f(x)=5x+7 and we have f(-100)=5*(-100)+7=-493.

With f(00), x=100 ans is positive so we use the second equation f(x)=7x+8 and get f(100)=7*100+8=708.

We add them to get the result : f(-100)+f(100)=-493+708=215

(e)f(-4)=-13

(f)f2)=22

(g)f(0)=8

(h)f(-100)+f(100)=215

Mrs. Williams teaches preschool. At snack time on Monday, Mrs. Williams used 2/3 of a bottle of juice to give 12 students each a
MakcuM [25]

Answer: 1 1/6

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the amount of students that a bottle of juice can cater for be x. Therefore,

2/3 × x = 12

2x/3= 12

2x = 12 × 3

2x = 36

x = 36/2

x = 18

Since Mrs. Williams gave juice to 21 students, the number of bottles of juice that was used will be:

= 21/18

= 1 3/18

= 1 1/6

On the first of three tests sally scored 75 points. on the third test her score was one point more than the second test her aver
stepladder [879]
If her second test was x and her third was x+1 (since it was 1 more than the second), we get 75+x+x+1=76+2x as our total test scores. Next, to get the average you add up the numbers and divide it by the amount of numbers you have. Since we have 3 tests and our sum is 76+2x, we divide it by 3 to get (76+2x)/3=average=82. Multiplying both sides by 3, we get 246=76+2x. Next, we subtract both sides by 76 to get 170=2x. Lastly, we divide both sides by 2 to get 85=x= the second test score. Her third test score is x+1=85+1=86

The area of a square is 275 square meters and one side length is 55 meters. What is the perimeter of the square?
Aleks [24]

Answer:

220 meter

Step-by-step explanation:

According to the scenario, computation of the given data are as follows,

Area of square = 275 square meters

Side length (a) = 55 meters

We can calculate the perimeter of square by using following formula,

Perimeter of square = 4a

By putting the value, we get

Perimeter of square = 4 × 55 mt

= 220 meter

Hence, the perimeter of the square is 220 meter.
