Answer:

20cm

Step-by-step explanation:

volume   = length \times width \times height \\  20000= 40 \times 25 \times h \\ 2000 0= 1000h \\  \frac{20000}{1000}  =  \frac{1000h}{1000} \\  h = 20

TiliK225 [7]

Correct question:

A food company sells salmon to various customers. The mean weight of the salmon is 44 lb with a standard deviation of 3 lbs. The company ships them to restaurants in boxes of 9 salmon, to grocery stores in cartons of 16 salmon, and to discount outlet stores in pallets of 64 salmon. To forecast costs, the shipping department needs to estimate the standard deviation of the mean weight of the salmon in each type of shipment. Complete parts (a) and (b) below.

a. Find the standard deviations of the mean weight of the salmon in each type of shipment.

b. The distribution of the salmon weights turns out to be skewed to the high end. Would the distribution of shipping weights be better characterized by a Normal model for the boxes or pallets?

Answer:

Given:

Mean, u = 44

Sd = 3

The company ships in boxes of 9, cartons of 16 and pallets of 64.

a) For the standard deviations of the mean weight of the salmon in each type of shipment, lets use the formula: \frac{s.d}{\sqrt{u}}

i) For the standard deviation of the mean weight of salmon in boxes of 9, we have:

\frac{s.d}{\sqrt{u}}

= \frac{3}{\sqrt{9}}

= \frac{3}{3} = 1

The standard deviation = 1

ii) For the standard deviation of the mean weight of salmon in cartons of 16, we have:

\frac{s.d}{\sqrt{u}}

= \frac{3}{\sqrt{16}}

= \frac{3}{4} = 0.75

Standard deviation = 0.75

iii) For the standard deviation of the mean weight of salmon in pellets of 64, we have:

\frac{s.d}{\sqrt{u}}

= \frac{3}{\sqrt{64}}

= \frac{3}{8} = 0.375

Standard deviation = 0.375

b) The distribution of shipping weights would be better characterized by a Normal model for the pallets, because regardless of the underlying distribution, the sampling distribution of the mean approaches the Normal model as the sample increases.

An Investment of $10,000 yields 8% interest compounded quarterly.
Pachacha [2.7K]

An Investment of $10,000 yields 8% interest compounded quarterly.  The accumulated capital after 6 months is $10,404. The accumulated capital after 5 years is $14.859.47

From the information given;

  • The principal amount of investment = $10,000
  • Interest Rate = 8% = 0.08
  • number of times it get compounded = 4

a. we are to determine the amount of the accumulated capital after 6 months.

  • i.e. when time (t) = 6 months.

Now, using the formula for calculating the amount value of the accumulated capital:

\mathbf{A = P(1 + \dfrac{r}{n})^{nt}}

\mathbf{A = 10000(1 + \dfrac{0.08\times 1}{4})^{4 \times \frac{1}{2}}}

\mathbf{A = 10000(1.02)^2}}

A = $10,404

b. we are to determine the amount of the accumulated capital after 5 years

  • i.e. when time (t) = 5 years

\mathbf{A = P(1 + \dfrac{r}{n})^{nt}}

\mathbf{A = 10000(1 + \dfrac{0.08\times 1}{4})^{4 \times 5}}

\mathbf{A = 10000(1.02)^20}}

A = $14859.47

Therefore, we can conclude that the accumulated capital after 6 months is $10,404 and the accumulated capital after 5 years is $14859.47

What is the volume of the composite figure?
sertanlavr [38]

Look at the picture.

We have 3 cuboids. The formula of a volume of a cuboid is:

V = Length × Width ×  Height = lwh

The cuboid 1 are congruent to the cuboid 2.

<h2>1&2</h2>

l = 9 in, w = 10 in, h = 10 in

V = (9)(10)(10) = 900 in³

<h2>3</h2>

l = 6 in, w = 10 in, h = 10 in

V = (6)(10)(10) = 600 in³

The volume of the composite prism:

V = 2(900) + 600 = 1800 + 600 = 2400 in³
