А geostationary satellite moves in an orbit of radius 6300km. Calculate the speed with which it moves in the orbit [π=22÷7]
azamat

Answer:

15.3 m/s

Explanation:

Radius of orbit= 6400+6300 = 12700 km

Circumference of orbit= 2*(22/7)*12700 =79796.45*10^3 m

Now,

       Speed= Distance / Time

                  = 79796.45*10^3/(24*60*3600)

                  = 15.3 m/s

Estimate the average power output of the sun, given that about 1350 w/m2 reaches the upper atmosphere of the earth.
fenix001 [56]

the average power output of the sun is 3.8 × 10^{26} W given that about 1350 w/m2 reaches the upper atmosphere of the earth.

As we know intensity falling over a surface is equal to Energy falling per unit area per unit volume.

I = \frac{Energy}{area*time}

Since Power is equal to energy/time

I = power/area

or

Power = Intensity × area

Now, Distance from Sun to Earth , r = 149.6 ×10^{9}  m

So, Surface area of the sphere of radius is:

A = 4 π r^{2}

= 4 × 3.14 × (149.6 × 10^{9})²

=  2.81 × 10^{23}m²

Thus Average Power output of the sun will be:

P = 1350 × 2.81 × 10^{23}

= 3.7935 × 10^{26}

P = 3.8 ×    10^{26}  W

So the average power output of the sun is 3.8 × 10^{26} W.

A car of mass m, traveling at constant speed, rides over the top of a round hill. How do the normal force of the road on the car
dybincka [34]

Answer:

The normal force will be lower than the gravitational force acting on the car. Therefore the answer is N < mg, which is option B.

Explanation:

Over a round hill, the centripetal force acting toward the the radius of the hill supports the gravitational force (mg) of the car. This notion can be expressed mathematically as follows:

At the top of a round hill

Normal force = Gravitational force - centripetal force

At the foot of a round hill

Normal Force = centripetal force + Gravitational force

what is the momentum of a child and a wagon if the total mass of the child and wagon is 22kg and the velocity is 1.5m/s?
antoniya [11.8K]

Answer:

33 kg m/s

Explanation:

The momentum of an object is given by:

p=mv

where

m is the mass of the object

v is the velocity of the object

In this problem, the total mass of the child and the wagon is m =22 kg, while the velocity is v = 1.5 m/s, therefore the momentum is

p=mv=(22 kg)(1.5 m/s)=33 kg m/s
