The Emergency Management Assistance Compact (EMAC) is a type of interstate mutual aid agreement. EMAC was ratified by the U.S. Congress in 1996. The main purpose of this is to facilitate the sharing of assistance among states when an emergency such as natural and man-made disaster occurs.
