Law of brotherhood

The death penalty was so common, that in the First Court, the Fountain of Execution was erected, where the executioner and his assistant washed their bloody hands after cutting their heads at the victims.

Explanation:

  • Since the mid-15th century, the "law of brotherhood" written by Muhammed II was in force in the Ottoman Empire. It was a "rulebook" outlining the terms of power. A brother who would gain the throne killed all other brothers and sisters, which was considered not only permissible but desirable, because it partly prevented the risk of rebellion and civil war.
  • Although not always enforced, Muhammed's law led to the deaths of more than 80 Ottomans of "blue blood" over a 150-year period.
  • The fountain was the most frightening symbol of the power the sultan had over his subjects.

What two factors led to the US being considered a powerful nation during World War I? The battle of Belleau Wood proved to the w
Natalka [10]

During the first World War, the United States came to be respected by other nations because:

  • The battle of Belleau Wood proved to the world the strength of the US armed forces.
  • The economic strength of the US led to greater respect from leaders of other countries.

The United States was greatly admired during the first World War because:

  • Their economic strength provided the allies with much needed supplies and weaponry at a time when the allies were running short on resources.
  • The bravery of the American soldiers in battles like the Battle of Belleau Woods showed that the American army was a strong force.

These two factors ensured victory for the allies in the end because American soldiers were key to winning the war and so were American resources.

We can therefore conclude that the U.S. was respected on account of its military and economic feats.
