This question is based on combinations

Out of 7 appetizers, 4 are to be selected, this becomes = 7C4

Out of 3 main courses, 2 are to be selected , this is = 3C2

Out of 5 desserts, 4 are to be selected, this is = 5C4

So, total ways become =

7C4 * 3C2 * 5C4

7!/4!(7-4)! * 3!/2!(3-2)! * 5!/4!(5-4)!

= 35*3*5 =525 ways

Hence, this can be done in 525 ways.

Find the vertex of the given quadratic function.
AleksandrR [38]

Answer: Choice B. The vertex is (6,-4)

=======================================================

Work Shown:

Step 1 is to expand out (x-8)(x-4) using the FOIL rule or the box method or the distribution rule

(x-8)(x-4) = x(x-4)-8(x-4)

(x-8)(x-4) = x*x+x*(-4)-8*x-8*(-4)

(x-8)(x-4) = x^2-4x-8x+32

(x-8)(x-4) = x^2-12x+32

So (x-8)(x-4) turns into x^2-12x+32

x^2-12x+32 is the same as 1x^2+(-12x)+32 which is in the form ax^2+bx+c. We see that a = 1, b = -12, c = 32

-----------------

Use the values of a & b to find the value of h, which is the x coordinate of the vertex

h = -b/(2*a)

h = -(-12)/(2*1)

h = 12/2

h = 6

Then this is plugged back into the original function to find the y coordinate of the vertex. We can use either (x-8)(x-4) or x^2-12x+32 since they are equivalent expressions

k = y coordinate of vertex

k = f(h) = f(6) since h = 6

f(x) = (x-8)(x-4)

f(6) = (6-8)(6-4)

f(6) = (-2)(2)

f(6) = -4

note that

f(x) = x^2-12x+32

f(6) = (6)^2-12(6)+32

f(6) = 36-72+32

f(6) = -36+32

f(6) = -4

So we get the same result using either expression

So k = f(h) = f(6) = -4

Since h = 6 and k = -4, the vertex is (h,k) = (6,-4). So that's why the answer is choice B.

Six more than a number equals two times the sum of one-half the number plus three. Is this statement true for only one number, a
babymother [125]

your answer would be all numbers

let me show you:

step 1) 6 more than 4 is 10

step 2) two times the sum of one-half the number plus three is 2*(2+3)

step 3) 2+3 is 5,and 5*2 is 10

step 4) compare the answers from steps 1 and 3,they are both 10

so your answer is ALL numbers

Point C(12,5) was reflected to C'(-12,5). What was the line of reflection? HELPP PLEASE
suter [353]

Answer:

The  point ( 12,5) reflected about y-axis then the Point C¹( -12,5)

Step-by-step explanation:

<u><em>Explanation:-</em></u>

Given the point (12,5)

The point ( x,y) reflected about y-axis then the transformed to

(x,y)→(-x,y)

Now the given point ( 12,5) reflected about y-axis then the transformed to

If ∠5 = 137° and ∠7 = 100°, find the measure of ∠1. *
Pani-rosa [81]

Answer:

m∠1 = 37°

Step-by-step explanation:

if m∠5 = 137 then m∠2 = 43 (supplementary angles)

if m∠7 = 100 then m∠3 = 100 (vertical angles)

m∠1 + m∠2 + m∠3 = 180°

m∠1 + 43 + 100 = 180°
