Bogdan [553]
When building a Venn Diagram, I always start from the area with the most overlap to the areas of least overlap. Once you have placed the 3 in the middle, you have counted those people, and therefore you must subtract them from the other surveys. Example: since there are 3 people that like all three subjects, now only have 5 students that like just math and English instead of 8.

Therefore:
A) 36 Students were in the survey
*Add all the numbers within the Venn diagram up. Overlapping doesn't matter because no one is double counted.

B) 6 People liked only Math
*Can't touch any other circle but Math

C) 20 Students liked English and math, but not history
*You add 9+5+6, since these bubbles are not overlapping with history.

I Hope this helps and let me know if you have any further questions!

Examine the following expression.
svetoff [14.1K]

Answer:

True expressions:

  • The constants, -3 and -8, are like terms.
  • The terms 3 p and p are like terms.
  • The terms in the expression are p squared, negative 3, 3 p, negative 8, p, p cubed.
  • The expression contains six terms.
  • Like terms have the same variables raised to the same powers.

Step-by-step explanation:

The expression is:

p² - 3 + 3p - 8 + p + p³

False expressions:

  • The terms p squared, 3 p, p, and p cubed have variables, so they are like terms.  (They don't have the same exponents)
  • The terms p squared and p cubed are like terms.    (They don't have the same exponents)
  • The expression contains seven terms. (It contains 6 terms)

If a translation takes triangle CAT to C'A'T', what is A'T'?
Marina86 [1]

Answer:

square root of 10

Step-by-step explanation:

since triangle CAT with vertex A at negative 2 comma 1, vertex T at negative 1 comma 4 and vertex C at 0 comma 0, side AT has a measure of square root of 10 units, side TC has a measure of square root of 17 units, and side AC has a measure of square root of 5 units, therefore the square root will be 10
