If y varies directly with x, then a relationship exists in the form y = kx +c
where k =  the constant of variation.

The given relationship is
3y = 7x - 18
or
y = (7/3)x - 6
Therefore the constant of variation is 7/3.

Answer:  D. Yes; 7/3

How to turn negative mixed fraction into decimal
andre [41]
First off, if it's mixed, you'd want to convert it to "improper" first, and then do the division... say hmm - 3 and 1/7

\bf \stackrel{mixed}{-3\frac{1}{7}}\implies -\cfrac{3\cdot 7+1}{7}\implies \stackrel{improper}
{-\cfrac{22}{7}}\implies -22\div 7\implies -3.\overline{142857}

the line over the decimal part is because is a "recurrent decimal", or repeating one.

\huge\red{ \bold{\frac{2x + 1}{  {x}^{2} + 1} }}

Step-by-step explanation:

\frac{x - 2}{ {x}^{2}  + 1} +   \frac{x  + 3}{ {x}^{2}  + 1} \\  \\  =  \frac{x - 2 + x + 3}{ {x}^{2}  + 1} \\  \\  =  \frac{2x + 1}{  {x}^{2} + 1}  \\  \\   \red{ \bold{\therefore \:  \frac{x - 2}{ {x}^{2}  + 1} +   \frac{x  + 3}{ {x}^{2}  + 1}}} \blue{ \bold{  = }}  \purple{ \bold{\frac{2x + 1}{  {x}^{2} + 1} }} \\

A cube has a surface area of 216 square inches. what is the edge length of the cube?
Aleksandr [31]

Answer:

  6 inches

Step-by-step explanation:

For an edge length of s, the six square faces of the cube add to an area of ...

  cube area = 6s²

Filling in the given information and solving for s, we get

  216 = 6s²

  36 = s² . . . . . divide by 6

  √36 = s = 6 . . . . take the square root

The edge length is 6 inches.
