The Pacific island nations are heavily reliant on the tourism, so the majority of the profit in them comes through he tourists that visit them. This makes them very vulnerable economically as they depend only on one thing for income, and if there's some problems in the tourist sector then they are in deep trouble. For most of these nations the income from the tourism is actually not enough for them to sustain themselves, so they also rely a lot on foreign support.
