<h2>Answer</h2>

D.  y – 85 = 10(x – 8)

<h2>Explanation</h2>

First we are going to find the slope of the line equation that represents the situation. To do it we are using the slope formula:

m=\frac{y_{2}-y_{1}}{x_{2}-x_{1}}

where

m is the slope of the line

(x_{1},y_{1}) are the coordinates of the first point

(x_{2},y_{2}) are the coordinates of the second point

From our table we can get the points (2, 25) and (4, 45) so x_{1}=2, y_{1}=25, x_{2}=4, and y_{2}=45. Let's replace the values in our formula:

m=\frac{y_{2}-y_{1}}{x_{2}-x_{1}}

m=\frac{45-25}{4-2}

m=\frac{20}{2}

m=10

Now that we have our slope, we are going to use the point slope formula:

y-y_{1}=m(x-x_{1})

Since the slope of our line is positive 10, we can rule out answers A and C.

Since the line of answer B has the numbers 4 and 45, we are going to test the point (4, 45) in our point slope formula:

y-45=10(x-4)   Nope! Answer B is not correct.

Since the line of answer D has the numbers 8 and 85, we are going to test the point (8, 85) in our point slope formula:

y-85=10(x-8)  We got the same line, so D is the correct answer.

Find a polynomial function of degree 7 with a leading coefficient of 1 and with - 3 as a zero of multiplicity 3,0 as a zero of m
jeyben [28]

The <em>least</em> polynomial in <em>standard</em> form is defined by the function f(x) = x⁷ + 6 · x⁶ - 54 · x⁴ - 81 · x³.

<h3>How to determine the least polynomial given a set of roots and a leading coefficient</h3>

Polynomials can be expressed as a product of binomials of the form (x - r) multiplied by a <em>leading</em> coefficient. The <em>least</em> polynomial contain the number of roots presented in statement, whose <em>factor</em> form is shown below:

f(x) = 1 · (x + 3)³ · x³ · (x - 3)

f(x) = (x + 3)³ · (x⁴ - 3 · x³)

f(x) = (x³ + 9 · x² + 27 · x + 27) · (x⁴ - 3 · x³)

f(x) = x⁷ + 9 · x⁶  + 27 · x⁵ + 27 · x⁴ - 3 · x⁶ - 27 · x⁵ - 81 · x⁴ - 81 · x³

f(x) = x⁷ + 6 · x⁶ - 54 · x⁴ - 81 · x³

The <em>least</em> polynomial in <em>standard</em> form is defined by the function f(x) = x⁷ + 6 · x⁶ - 54 · x⁴ - 81 · x³.

What process do you use to find the percent change of a quantity?
Sever21 [200]
<span><u><em>First, we need to get the amount of change:</em></u>
The amount of change can either be an increase or a decrease.
It can be calculated as follows:
amount of change = </span>\frac{"new"value - "old"value}{"old" value}
<span>
If the amount of change is positive, then it is an increase
If the amount of change is negative, then it is a decrease

<u><em>Then, we need to convert this amount into a percentage:</em></u>
Changing the amount into a percentage can simply be done by multiplying this amount by 100
This means that:
% of change = amount of change * 100

<u><em>Combining the two steps:</em></u>
% of change = </span>\frac{"new"value - "old"value}{"old" value}<span> * 100

<u>Examples:</u>
The original price of a certain product was $10. It then became $12. Find the % of increase.
% of change = </span>\frac{12-10}{10} * 100<span> = 20%
This means that the price increased by 20%

The temperature decreased from 25 degrees to 20 degrees. Find the percentage of decrease.
% of decrease = </span>\frac{20-25}{25} * 100<span> = -20%
This means that the temperature decreased by 20%

Hope this helps :)</span>

Solve using a suitable inverse operation:
Olenka [21]

Answer:

a = - 10

Step-by-step explanation:

Given

\frac{a}{5} = - 2

a is divided by 2. The inverse operation to division is multiplication, thus

Multiply both sides by 5 to clear the fraction

a = 5 × - 2 = - 10
