Answer: It is a nucleic acid.

It is found in DNA.

It is used to build an organism’s structures.

It allows parents and their young to have similar characteristics.

The genetic code can be defined as a set of rules that are present in the coded form of  nucleic acid specifically in the DNA of an organism which is being inherited by an offsprings from the parents. The genetic code contains the information that is used by a cellular machinery to produced specialized functional proteins. These proteins are the building blocks of life and they ensure that the characters inherited from the parents should also be expressed in the offspring.

Haploid sperm and egg are produced via meiosis. What process is responsible for producing the 2N zygote?
kirza4 [7]

The answer is fertilization.

Fertilization is the process in which two haploid gametes fuse to create one diploid cell. <span>In this process, male sperm fuses with female egg which creates a zygote. Since they are haploid (n), after fertilization, they will create the zygote which contains chromosomes from the sperm and chromosomes from the egg. The zygote, thus, has two sets of chromosomes, so it is diploid (2n).</span>

What was the actual proportion of the basis for equal amounts of DNA
Stells [14]

Answer:

Equal amounts of DNA contain equal proportions of nitrogenous bases.

Explanation:

According to Chargaff's rule, the nitrogenous base pairs (Purines and pyrimidines) have an equal ratio (1:1) in the DNA of all the organisms. More precisely, the amount of adenine is equal to thymine and the amount of guanine is equal to cytosine in the DNA of all the organism. A-T base pair has two H-bonds while G-C base pair has three H-bonds.
