Heat given out in one hour = 8700 x 10³ Cals

Let mass of water m gm

Heat taken up = mass x specific heat x rise in temperature

= m x 1 x ( 62 - 11 ) [ specific heat of water is 1 cal per g per k ]

Heat lost = heat gained

51 m = 8700 x 10³

m = 8700 / 51 x 10³

170.59 x 10³ g

170.59 kg.
