The statement is true.
Renin-angiotensin system will be activated when there is a loss of blood volume (or decrease of blood pressure, such as in haemorrhage or dehydration. Renin is secreted by kidneys directly into the circulation when the blood flow is reduced. Renin then stimulates conversion of angiotensinogen, released by the liver, to angiotensin I which will then be converted to angiotensin II by the angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) found in the lungs. Angiotensin II is a vasoconstrictor(increases the blood pressure) and also stimulates the secretion of the aldosterone from the adrenal cortex. Aldosterone increases the reabsorption of sodium and water into the blood and the excretion of potassium (to maintain electrolyte balance). This also increases blood pressure and retention of water.

ehidna [41]
Isotonic Solution

This solution is basically when the medium surrounding a cell has same water concentration as the cell, there is no net movement of water across the cell membrane. As a result the water moves equally in both sides and the cell remains the same size.

Hope this helped!

All of the following are macromolecules except:
Harman [31]

Answer:

The correct answer is c. Fatty acids

Explanation:

There are four major types of macromolecules present in nature and that are carbohydrates(polysaccharides), proteins, lipids, and nucleic acids. These macromolecules are polymers and are made up of monomer units.

The monomeric unit of polysaccharides is mainly glucose, of protein is amino acids, of nucleic acid is nucleotides and the monomeric unit of lipid is fatty acids. Ribosomes are macromolecules because it is made up of RNA and proteins.

So fatty acid is a monomer which joins together to form large macromolecules like lipids. Fatty acids are made up of a hydrocarbon chain which have one attached COOH group at the terminal position.

Therefore the correct answer is c. Fatty acids.

Which is the term for numbers that appear in the chemical formulas of some compounds?
iogann1982 [59]

It is called subscript indicating the number of atoms.

Explanation:

The chemical compound is formed by two or more elements.

The compound is formed by the sharing, accepting or donating the electrons.

The compound formed by two elements will have different valencies of cations and anions.

In chemical formula of compound specific number of atoms of each element are present.

eg: H2O (2 atoms of hydrogen bonded with one atom of oxygen)

NaCl (1 atom of sodium and one atom of chloriine are bonded.)

NaHCO3 ( 1 atom of sodium, 1 atom of hydrogen, 1 atom of carbon and 3 atoms of oxygen.)
