By combining aqueous solutions of calcium chloride and sodium carbonate, a solid calcium carbonate is produced. The CaCO 3 is trapped by the paper which forms as a precipitate, but the NaCl passes through the filter paper with the water.

Explanation:

  • In gravity separation, a combination of two incompatible liquids can be separated by using a separating funnel. The operation is based on the variation within the density of the liquids. The heavier liquid that settles down is drained out first from the funnel into the beaker, and then the lighter liquid is drained out into another beaker.
  • Filtration is used to separate a substance from a mixture because one is insoluble and the other is soluble. By combining aqueous solutions of calcium chloride and sodium carbonate, solid calcium carbonate is produced.

                CaCl 2 (aq) + Na 2 CO 3 (aq) → CaCO 3 (s) + 2NaCl(aq)

  • A filter paper is inserted in a funnel and the mixture may be poured through a funnel. The NaCl is passed through the filter paper with the water but CaCO3 is trapped by the paper which forms the precipitate.

The decomposition of NH4HS is endothermic: NH4HS(s)⇌NH3(g)+H2S(g) Part A Which change to an equilibrium mixture of this reaction
shepuryov [24]

Explanation:

According to Le Chatelier's principle, any disturbance caused in an equilibrium reaction will shift the equilibrium in a direction that will oppose the change.

As the given reaction is as follows.

       NH_{4}HS(s) \rightleftharpoons NH_{3}(g) + H_{2}S(g)

(a) When increase the temperature of the reactants or system then equilibrium will shift in forward direction where there is less temperature. It is possible for an endothermic reaction.

Thus, formation of H_{2}S will increase.

  • (b) When we decrease the volume (at constant temperature) of given reaction mixture then it implies that there will be increase in pressure of the system. So, equilibrium will shift in a direction where there will be decrease in composition of gaseous phase. That is, in the backward direction reaction will shift.

Hence, formation of H_{2}S will decrease with decrease in volume.

  • When we increase the mount of NH_{4}HS then equilibrium will shift in the direction of decrease in concentration that is, in the forward direction.

Thus, we can conclude that formation of H_{2}S will increase then.

2H2 + O2 2H2O
Licemer1 [7]

Answer:

c ) 8

Explanation:

Given data:

Number of moles of water produced = ?

Moles of hydrogen react = 8 mol

Solution:

Chemical equation:

2H₂ + O₂ → 2H₂O

Now we will compare the moles of hydrogen and water.

         H₂ : H₂O

          2 : 2

         8 : 8

Thus, 8 moles of water will produced.
