Call the length L and there width W. then perimeter is 2L+2W=18. area is LW=20.

2L+2W=18
L+W=9
LW=20
L=9-W
(9-W)W=20
W²-9W+20=0
(W-5)(W-4)=0
W=4,5

rectangle is 4by5

Which of the following is true?
Ratling [72]

In this question, we're trying to find the inequality that is true.

To find your answer, we can convert the numbers in the absolute value:

|−5| < 4:

5 < 4 false

|−4| < |−5|:

4 < 5 true

|−5| < |4|

5 < 4 false

|−4| < −5

4 < -5 false

The only true inequality here would be |−4| < |−5|, since it works with the inequality sign.

Answer:

|−4| < |−5|

Please solve this...I can;t do it do it
yanalaym [24]

Answer:

Area = 867 meters

Step-by-step explanation:

You have a rectangle. This means opposite sides are equal. If you set these expressions equal to each other, you will get two equations with two unknowns, x and y. Next, solve the system of equations to find x and y. Then, use the values to find the length and width of the rectangle. Last, multiply length × width to find the area.

The theory that it is reasonable to chose the simpler theory when choosing between two competing theories of equal explanatory v
Vesnalui [34]

Answer:

Occam’s razor theory.

Step-by-step explanation:

This theory is known as Occam’s razor theory.

It's a theory based on the principle whereby we give precedence to simplicity. It states that out of two competing theories, the one with the simpler explanation of an object should be embraced over the other. The reason is that the philosopher William of Ockham said that "objects are not meant to be multiplied beyond absolute necessity.”

This definition resonates with what is explained in the question.

Thus, the theory is as explained.

A triangle has side lengths of 9 in, 13 in, and 20 in. What is the measurement of this triangle's largest angle?
Rama09 [41]

1. Given any triangle ABC with sides BC=a, AC=b and AB=c, the following are true :

     i) the larger the angle, the larger the side in front of it, and the other way around as well. (Sine Law) Let a=20 in, then the largest angle is angle A.

      ii) Given the measures of the sides of a triangle. Then the cosines of any of the angles can be found by the following formula:

       a^{2}=b ^{2}+c ^{2}-2bc(cosA)

2.

20^{2}=9 ^{2}+13 ^{2}-2*9*13(cosA)

400=81+169-234(cosA)   150=-234(cosA)

cosA=150/-234= -0.641

3. m(A) = Arccos(-0.641)≈130°,

4. Remark: We calculate Arccos with a scientific calculator or computer software unless it is one of the well known values, ex Arccos(0.5)=60°, Arccos(-0.5)=120° etc
