Let us assume the width of the rectangle = x
Then
The length of the rectangle = 2x
The perimeter of the rectangle = 24 inches
We know the formula of the perimeter of a rectangle is
Perimeter = 2 (length + Breadth)
24 = 2 (2x + x)
24 = 2 * 3x
24 = 6x
x = 24/6
   = 4
So the width of the rectangle = 4 inches
length of the rectangle = 2x
                                     = 2 * 4 inches
                                     = 8 inches
Now
The Area of the rectangle = Width * Length
                                          = 4 * 8 inches^2
                                          = 32 inches ^2
So the area of the rectangle is 32 square inches. I hope i have helped you.

A third-degree polynomial function f has real zeros -2, ½, and 3, and its leading coefficient negative. Write an equation for f.
Rom4ik [11]
F(x) = k(x+2)(2x-1)(x-3), where k is some constant
= k(2x^3-3x^2-11x+6)
= k(-2x^3+3x^2+11x-6)

k defines some vertical stretch, so there are an infinitely many solutions for f(x).

The radius of a circle is 9 1/4 mm. what is the circumference in terms of pi?
kirill [66]
The formula to find the circumference of a circle is C=2*pi*r.
Substitute 9 1/4 or 9.25 for r.
C=2*pi*r
C=2*pi*9.25
C=18.5pi
The circumference of the circle would be 18.5pi.
