Calculate the vapor pressure for a mist of spherical water droplets of radius 3.70×10−8m surrounded by water vapor at 298 K. The

vapor pressure of water at this temperature is 25.2 Torr, the density of water is 998 kg⋅m−3, and the surface tension of water is 71.99 mN⋅m−1.

Answer:

The vapor pressure for a mist is P= 25.92\ Torr

Explanation:

From the question we are given that

        The radius is  r = 3.70 *10^{-8} m

        The temperature is T  = 298K

       The vapor pressure of water P_o = 25.2\ Torr

      The density of water is  \rho = 998 kg.m^{-3}

      The surface tension of water is \sigma  = 71.99 m N \cdot m^{-1}

Generally the equation of that is mathematically represented as

                            ln (\frac{P}{P_0} )  = \frac{2 \sigma M}{r \rho RT}

 Where  P is the vapor pressure for mist

               R is the  ideal gas constant = 8.31

      making P the subject in the formula

    P = e^ {\frac{2 \sigma M}{r \rho RT}} * P_0

        = e^{\frac{2 *(0.07199)(0.018)}{(3.70*10^{-8})(998)(8.31)(298)} } * 25.2

        P= 25.92Torr

A car travels on a banked circular curve at constant speed. All four of the car's tires roll without slipping. The car moves at
kvv77 [185]

Answer:

b. The horizontal component of the normal force acts toward the center of the circle.

Explanation:

When a car on a banked turn move with just the right speed so that the frictional force is zero, a component of the normal force -which is always perpendicular to the surface- acts as the centripetal force on the car. This is because the normal force now has a horizontal component, and this component supplies the centripetal force.

Match each scientist with the contribution he made to the arrangement of elements in the periodic table
Sergeeva-Olga [200]
  • Dmitri Mendeleev- arranged elements according to their

atomic mass

  • Johann Wolfgang Dobereiner-created groups of three elements,

each based on similar properties

  • John Newlands-used patterns to predict undiscovered

elements

  • Antoine Lavoisier-divided elements into four categories

Explanation:

The periodic table or the table depicting the arrangement of various elements has a long history. Several of the scientist starting from Lavoisier to Mendeleev contributed to the table in their might. The present table has been an evolution of the previous tables over their shortcomings.

Some of the notable contributions include-

  • Mendeleev- Mendeleev arranged the elements in order of atomic mass rather than atomic mass. Through this, he also discovered new elements.
  • Newlands- He formulated the Newland law of octaves similar to musical notation.
  • Lavoisier- Lavoisier divided the elements into various categories and also defined elements.
  • Dobereiner- He formulated the triad law which encapsulated that certain group of elements showed similar properties, hence can be grouped together.

If an electric wire is allowed to produce a magnetic field no larger than that of the Earth (0.55 x 10-4 T) at a distance of 25
antiseptic1488 [7]

we are given in the problem the following dimensions or specifications
B = 0.000055 T r = 0.25 m constant mu0 = 4*pi*10-7

The formula that is applicable from physics is
B = mu0*I/(2*pi*r) I = 2*B*pi*r/mu0 I = 68.75 Amperes

ASHA 777 [7]

Answer:

V = E*d

D = 1.5 cm * [1 m / 100 cm] = 0.015m

V = 2.9^10^6 N/C * 0.015 m

V = 1.93 * 10^9 V

The units don't agree in any simple way, but the formula is correct, and it does work.

2) Billy jumps upward with a velocity of 4.2 m/s off a 6m high diving board. What is his final velocity once he hits the water?
Yuliya22 [10]

Answer:

The value of the final  velocity  is  v  =  11.6 \  m/s

Explanation:

Generally from kinematic equation

    v^2 =  u^2  + 2as

Here a is the acceleration which is equivalent to  g

So

    v^2 =  u^2  + 2gs

substituting 6 m for s , 4.2m/s for u

    v^2 =  4.2^2  + 2 *  9.8 * 6

    v  =  11.6 \  m/s
