Therefore angle c will also be  x [as given b and c are equal] and angle a will be x - 42°.
Now as we know that the sum of the measures of the angles of a triangle is 180° therefore,

x + x + x - 42° = 180°

=> 3x = 222°

=> x = 74°  which is angle b and c

and angle a is (74 - 42)°  =32°
