This is an exponential decay function, or it can also be viewed as a geometric sequence, either way, it can be expressed in this circumstance as:

f=ir^t, f=final amount, i=initial amount, r=common ratio or rate, t=times ratio is applied or time.

In this case i=2000 and r=(100-7)/100=0.93 so

f=2000(0.93^t)

We are asked to find when f=600 so:

600=2000(0.93^t)  divide both sides by 2000

0.3=0.93^t, take the natural log of both sides

ln0.3=t*ln0.93  divide both sides by ln0.93

(ln0.3)/(ln0.93)=t

t≈16.59

So in about 16.5 years she will own only 600 square miles.  (round as appropriate for your answer)

Bryce tried to solve an equation step by step.
Aloiza [94]

$c=\frac{1}{3}

Solution:

Given equation is \frac{8}{3}=3c+\frac{5}{3}.

To solve the equation by step by step.

Step 1: Given

$\frac{8}{3}=3c+\frac{5}{3}$

Step 2: Combine like terms together.

Plus symbol changed to minus when the term goes from right to left (or) left to right of the equal sign.

$\frac{8}{3}-\frac{5}{3}=3c$

Step 3: Subtract the fractions in the left side.

$\frac{3}{3}=3c$

⇒ 1=3c$

Step 4: Divide both side of the equation by 3, we get

$\frac{1}{3} =\frac{3c}{3}$

$\frac{1}{3} =c$

Hence, the answer is c=\frac{1}{3}.

#54 Simplify and write the answers using positive exponents only.
kramer
Gg easy

remember
(x^m)/(x^n)=x^(m-n)
and
(x^m)^n=x^(mn)
and
(xyz)^m=(x^m)(y^m)(z^m)
and
(m/n)^a=(m^a)/(n^a)
and
x^-n=1/(x^n)

so
( \frac{6mn^{-2}}{3m^{-1}n^2} )^{-3}=
( \frac{6}{3} )^{-3}( \frac{m}{m^{-1}} )^{-3}( \frac{n^{-2}}{n^2} )^{-3}=
(2^{-3})((m^2)^{-3})((n^{-4})^{-3})=
( \frac{1}{2^3})(m^{-6})(n^{12})=
( \frac{1}{8} )( \frac{1}{m^6})(n^{12})=
\frac{n^{12}}{8m^6}

Describe what is being done in each step while solving the equation -2x + 6 +6x = 6 ( 2x -3 )
Serggg [28]

-2x + 6 + 6x = 6 (2x - 3) <em>this is the equation</em>

-2x + 6 + 6x = 12x - 18 <em>distributive property has been applied</em>

4x + 6 = 12x - 18 <em>like terms have been added</em>

6 = 8x -18 <em>4x has been</em><em> </em><em>subtracted from both sides</em>

24 = 8x <em>-18 has been added to both sides</em>

3 = x <em>8 has been divided from both sides</em>

<em></em>

I hope this helps! Let me know if I need to explain more or if I got something wrong. Have a nice day!
