Whole numbers: all non negative integers are called whole numbers. The point to be remembered is that all natural numbers are whole numbers but all whole numbers are not natural numbers. For ease you can remember that 0 is a whole number but not a natural number.

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

A natural number is and POSITIVE integer and can be zero as well ( examples; 4,9773,0,etc...). But a whole number is any number, but it cannot be a fraction(-18,84,10,etc...)

What is the vertex of
f(x) = 2(x - 5)2 + 12
alexira [117]

Answer:

The vertex is (5, 12)

Step-by-step explanation:

The vertex, from vertex form, is (h,k).

Vertex form is a(x - h)² + k

= 2(x - 5)² + 12

So h = 5, k = 12

The vertex is (5, 12).

I hope this helped!

Solve

9x^2 + 42x + 49 = 0
svet-max [94.6K]

Because of the relatively large coefficients {9, 42, 49}, applying the quadratic formula would be a bit messy. Instead, I've chosen to "complete the square:"

9x^2 + 42x + 49 = 0 can be re-written as 9 [ x^2 + (42/9)x ] = -49

Dividing both sides by 9, we get [ x^2 + (42/9)x ] = - 49/9

Completing the square: [ x^2 + (42/9)x + (21/9)^2 - (21/9)^2 ] = -49/9

[ x + 21/9 ]^2 = 441/81 - 441/81 = 0

Then [ x + 21/9 ] = 0, and x = -21/9 (this is a double root).

Which of the following sets represents the range of the function shown? {A.(–3, 4),B.(5, 11), C.(9, –1), D.(10, 13)}
Mkey [24]
The range are the y values.
Range of {(-3, 4), (5, 11), (9, -1), (10, 13)} is {4, 11, -1, 13}
