125 cups in 120 minutes  (because 1000 oz/8 = 125 cups and  2 hrs is 120 minutes)

\frac{125}{120} = \frac{n}{1}

now reduce the fraction by dividing the numerator and denominator by 5 = (optional)
\frac{25}{24} =  \frac{n}{1}
So 24n = 25  Divide both sides by 24
n= 1  1/24 cups per minute

kirill115 [55]

Answer:

12 feet per second.

Step-by-step explanation:

Please consider the complete question.

Ian tosses a bone up in the air for his dog, Spot. The height, h, in feet, that Spot is above the ground at the time t seconds after she jumps for the bone can be representedh(t)=-16t^2+20t.

What is Spot's average rate of ascent, in feet per second, from the time she jumps into the air to the time she catches the bone at t=1/2?

We will use average rate of change formula to solve our given problem.

\text{Average rate of change}=\frac{f(b)-f(a)}{b-a}

\text{Average rate of change}=\frac{h(\frac{1}{2})-h(0)}{\frac{1}{2}-0}

\text{Average rate of change}=\frac{-16\cdot(\frac{1}{2})^2+20\cdot \frac{1}{2}-(-16\cdot(0)^2+20\cdot (0))}{\frac{1}{2}-0}

\text{Average rate of change}=\frac{-16\cdot\frac{1}{4}+10-(0)}{\frac{1}{2}}

\text{Average rate of change}=\frac{-4+10}{\frac{1}{2}}

\text{Average rate of change}=\frac{6}{\frac{1}{2}}

\text{Average rate of change}=\frac{2\cdot 6}{1}

\text{Average rate of change}=12

Therefore, Spot's average rate of ascent is 12 feet per second.

A hovercraft takes off from a platform. It’s height (in meters), x seconds is modeled by h(x)=-(x-11)(x+3). What is the height o
Eddi Din [679]

Answer:

The height of the hovercraft at the time of takeoff is  33  meters.

Step-by-step explanation:

Height of hovercraft  x  seconds after takeoff  =  h(x)  =  -(x - 11)(x + 3)

Height after takeoff is  =  h(0)  =  -(0 - 11)(0 + 3)  =  -(-11)(3)  =  33

So the correct answer is 33 meters. The height of the hover craft at the time of the takeoff is 33 metres.

Answer: 33  meters.
