1.) add 2 as a substitute for x

3(2)^{2} -2(2)+8

2.) solve the equation with the method of the PEMDAS (Parenthesis, exponents, multiplication, division, addition, and subtraction) and FLTR (From left to right (implied to do multiplication or division from left to right and then do subtraction to addition from left to right)

so you must do 2^{2} first then multiply that with 3

3.)and then multiply-2 with 2

4.) add everything from left to right and you should get 16 :)
