Read these lines from the excerpt again: But the pathos, the lesson, the moral of the great spectacle were lost upon the boy; he

only thought of the conspicuousness of the principal character before the on-looking nations; his face lit with the thought, and he said to himself that he wished he could be that child, if it was a tame lion. Which word from the excerpt helps define pathos?

Answer:

The correct answers are "pathos" and "wished".

Explanation:

This is so because Pathos is a Greek word that can take several meanings. It is one of the three modes of persuasion in rhetoric, according to Aristotle's philosophy. In Aristotle's Rhetoric, pathos is the use of human feelings to affect a jury's judgment. "Wished" demonstrates a feeling.

netineya [11]

Answer:

I think it's C) "It creates tension by moving fron the slower pace of the description to the faster pace of Bob's dialogue, which suggests an uneasiness on Bob's part."

Because even though I only read this part of the passage just now, instead of the full story, I can tell the description of either character, wasn't too detailed. Not to mention the pacing did start out normally, but it felt as though Bob chimed in a little too quickly.

I hope this answer satisfies you. Also please let me know if it's right or not :)

Sav [38]

Answer:

If it was my first flight I would literally be nervous and excited too. On the day before the travel to space, while I'm sleeping I would imagine all the planets or what all will I see and I will imagine of shoting pictures.I would prepare by keeping all the stuff I needed and keeping myself practised and ready.
