The structural conditions of these apartments are generally not as well kept and they have lower structural conditions. An example from the civil rights movement would be the fact that "black" neighborhoods had poor structural conditions and African American people were not allowed to occupy the houses with better structural conditions in predominantly "white" neighborhoods.

During the civil rights movement an example of mobilization is when the National Guard was called in to help students as they started to attend schools that were predominantly white. They were called to make sure the peace was kept during this time.
Social control is the conformity of society to follow social norms because of laws or social pressure. During the civil rights movement children that went to school with their own race grew up with this being the norm. They were conforming because of the social pressure from family and friends. Once laws started changing, the law attempted to move social norms to integrate and the citizens were required to abide by the new laws. The laws regarding integrating schools were being enforced by the National Guard which is also an example of social control.
