Chemistry

Answer;

Ba²⁺(aq) + CO₃²⁻(aq) → BaCO₃(s)

Explanation;

Ionic equation is a chemical equation that is written only showing the ions that have changed state in the course of a reaction. The rest ions called spectator ions are not involved in the reaction and do not change state thus they are not included when writing ionic equations.

-Aqueous compounds ionize in water to form corresponding ions, while precipitates, gases and pure liquids do not.

In our case; The only ions involved are Ba²⁺ and Co3²⁻, the rest are spectator ions, that is, NO3⁻ and Na⁺.

Thus the ionic equation will be;

Ba²⁺(aq) + CO₃²⁻(aq) → BaCO₃(s)

butalik [34]
Answer: 2 (2 neutrons are produced).

Explanation:

1) In the left side of the transmutation equationa appears:
²³⁵U + ¹n →

I am omitting the atomic number (subscript to the leff) because the question does not show them as it is focused on number of neutrons.

2) The right side of the transmutation equation has:

→ ¹⁴⁴Ce + ⁹⁰Sr + ?

3) The total mass number of the left side is 235 + 1 = 236

4) The total mass number of Ce and Sr on the right side is 144 + 90 = 234

5) Then, you are lacking 236 - 234 = 2 unit masses on the right side which are the 2 neutrons that are produced along with the Ce and Sr.

The complete final equation is:

²³⁵U + ¹n → ¹⁴⁴Ce + ⁹⁰Sr + 2 ¹n

Where you have the two neutrons produced.

When a new bond forms in a chemical reaction, what happens?
Kisachek [45]
The answer to this question would be A. Energy is released.

When a chemical bond is a form, the bond will either suck up energy or produce energy. So, to be precise the energy is not always released but also can be absorbed. In this case, the energy released number will be a minus.

Options B and C is definitely wrong since the bond is formed by an electron, it won't affects neutron/proton.
Option D might be true since the product is made of 2 or more atoms then it would seem larger. But the size of the actual atom won't be increased.

SOMEONE PLS HELP ME ITS URGENT
Simora [160]

If copper is heated with iron oxide there is no obvious reaction because

copper is less reactive than iron.

On a reactivity chart, copper is far below iron. This makes it impossible for a replacement reaction to occur, so the equation doesn't change.

I hope I helped!

DUE TOMORROW!!! 15 POINTS
Lunna [17]

Answer:

A. write balanced chemical equation (including states), for this process.

Explanation:

Almost all hydrocarbon 'burn' reactions involve oxygen; it's by far the most reactive substance in air.

Hydrocarbon combustions always involve

[some hydrocarbon] + oxygen --> carbon dioxide + steam.

C6H6(l) + O2 (g)--> CO2 (g)+ H2O (g)

Balance carbon, six on each side:

C6H6(l) + O2 (g)--> 6CO2 (g)+ H2O (g)

Balance hydrogen, six on each side:

C6H6(l) + O2 (g)--> 6CO2(g) + 3H2O (g)

Now, we have fifteen oxygens on the right and O2 on the left.

Two ways to deal with that. We can use a fraction:

C6H6 (l)+ (15/2)O2 (g)--> 6CO2 (g)+ 3H2O (g)

Or, if you prefer to have whole number coefficients, double everything

to get rid of the fraction:

2C6H6 (l)+ 15O2 (g)--> 12CO2 (g)+ 6H2O (g)

With the SATP states thrown in...

C6H6(l) + (15/2)O2(g) --> 6CO2(g) + 3H2O(g)
