Division Problem: 90 people were invited to the party.

1. How many tables are needed, if each table can seat 8 people?

2. How many tables will be completely full?

3. How many people will be at an incomplete table?

Solution:

You have that 90=8·11+2 (8 - divisor, 11 - quotient, 2 - remainder).

Since the quotient is 11, 12 tables are needed, 11 tables will be completely full and the last 12th table will be incomplete, only 2 people will be at this table.

Answer: 1. 12 tables, 2. 11 tables, 3. 2 people

Answer: Choice B

(x,y) \to \left(\frac{5}{2}x,\frac{5}{2}y\right)

=========================================================

Explanation:

When dilating with respect to the origin, any point of the form (x,y) moves to (kx, ky) for some real number k. The k is the scale factor.

Point C is at (-2,2). It moves to C ' (-5,5)

The jump from x = -2 to x = -5 is "times 5/2" since kx = (5/2)*(-2) = -5

The same scale factor is used when going from y = 2 to y = 5.

Both x and y coordinates are multiplied by 5/2 to move from (-2,2) to (-5,5)

Therefore, the dilation rule we use is (x,y) \to \left(\frac{5}{2}x,\frac{5}{2}y\right)

-----------

We could have these steps to confirm

(x,y) \to \left(\frac{5}{2}x,\frac{5}{2}y\right)\\\\(-2,2) \to \left(\frac{5}{2}*(-2),\frac{5}{2}(2)\right)\\\\(-2,2) \to (-5,5)\\\\

Write 13 divided by 4/7 as a multiplication expression
almond37 [142]

Answer:

13/1*7/4

Step-by-step explanation:

The way you get this is by using the Keep, Change, Flip Method. 13 as a fraction would be 13/1, and this is the keep phase. The change phase is where you change division to multiplication. The flip phase is when we flip the numerator and denominator. Remember, this only works when dividing fractions.
